Krisztina Konya

Krisztina Konya studied sociology and political science at the University of Pécs (Hungary) and at the University of Bayreuth. She wrote her thesis on the transition of new social movements to globalization-critical movements in Germany. She then worked briefly in opinion research as an analyst in Hungary before beginning her master's studies in "Urban and Regional Development" at the University of Bremen. Her studies focused on transport and migration policy, as well as spatial theory, post-socialist urban development, and the methodological assessment of urban segregation.

She was a staff member at the Institute for Educational Monitoring and Quality Development in Hamburg between 2011 and 2018. Her field of work included regional analyses of educational disparities and the investigation of the possibilities of evidence-based governance in the education system. Furthermore, she dealt with adequate methodological spatial coverage for multivariate analyses of school segregation.

Since November 2018, she is a research associate in the BMBF-funded project "CroMa - Crowd Management in Transport Infrastructures". The focus of her work is on exploring the collective behavior of crowds in anthropological "non-places".
